Once upon a time, a venezolean programmer decided to make a little project called: "CrazyBus". An game that was inspired by some buses from that country.

Not much blah blah here because my english is so deplorable and I don't know almost nothing about this guy. But one thing is sure, and probably you would hate me by saying this, but I consider that this project is a kinda interesting piece of demo that I've found while browsing internet circa 2018.

A screenshot of one of the several versions of the program

Leaving from the elephant in the room, this game was so "simple", because you only can make a bus go forward or backwards... Created in 2001 and updated to 2010 for the Sega Genesis / MegaDrive, this game was and its considered one of the worst games ever made...

Ok, addressing the elephant now, I was interested in a way to make the music better, this because I saw a few videos of "scibot9000", showing a piece of code that replaces the default random PSG sound generation script from the BEX compiler, to a personalized note sequence (in C major and Pentatonic Scale). One of my oldest dreams in this world (2018-2020) was to find a specific source code version of the game (v0.7) to replicate this enhancement. Unfortunally, didn't find the source code of that specific version anywhere, just found a GitHub repo with the source code of Momohime 2.0...

I must to sleep but I want to write. To not make this paragraph longer: I stumbled upon some archived websites of Tom Maneiro, that have some source codes from other CrazyBus versions than the Momohime 2.0 version, sources that I wasn't expecting to being archived in the first place... Along with other ROMs source code...

Well. The thing is that I've downloaded the sources from v0.7 to v1.1, and now I'm sharing them with you because WHY NOT? They were almost lost / vanished from internet. My job in this site is to preserve things right? Why not preserving older sources from a infamous Sega Genesis videogame made in Venezuela?. And why not also sharing obscure programs from the same developers? (Refering to Tom Maneiro and his Public Domain programs source code, and DevSter with a pack with some of his Sega Genesis compiling programs)...

The next part of this article is a list of the many things that I've archived from these guys (Links if you're interesting in this too, like me):

  • CrazyBus v0.7 Source Code
  • CrazyBus v0.8 Source Code
  • CrazyBus v1.1 Source Code
  • A pack with some of the DevSter programs (Includes patches and other several things...)
